Yungblud, Junny to play Bangkok

The Very Company is bringing two young talented singers from England and South Korea to perform in Bangkok for the first time in the next few days.

Set for Sunday at 7pm at Moon Star Studio on Lat Phrao 80 is "Yungblud Live In Bangkok", the first show here by Dominic Richard Harrison, professionally known as Yungblud. He is an English singer, musician, songwriter and actor reputed for incorporating punk, rock, pop spirit and hip-hop.

The 26-year-old singer has been topping the charts and earned many awards since his debut album 21st Century Liability (2018), including the Best Music Video at the NME Awards in 2020; Best Alternative Artist at the 2021 MTV EMAs; and Best Live Act at the O2 Silver Clef Awards last year. He was also praised by Mick Jagger as one of the new singers who helps keep rock'n'roll alive.

Two days later, "Junny Live In Bangkok" will take place at Voice Space, Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, on Nov 14 at 8.30pm.

This will be the first opportunity for local audiences to get to know Junny, or Kim Hyeong-jzun, a Korean-Canadian singer whose music heavily incorporates Western influences as a result of his growing up in Vancouver.

He first made his debut in 2017 with his first mini album Monochrome. He's best known for his gentle vocals and velvety sounds on tracks such as By My Side and Movie. His hit track Thank You is as an ode to his supporters.

The 27-year-old artist has also helped several other K-pop acts pen hits across his now four-year career. Some songs he has worked on in the past include NCT 127's Pilot and IU's Troll, among others.

Tickets cost 2,600 baht for the "Yungblud Live In Bangkok" and 2,600, 4,500 and 6,000 baht for "Junny Live In Bangkok".
