Everyone is invited to take a nostalgic trip to the world of childhood fun during "Cynical Bear Playground", which will take place at RCB Galleria 1 of River City Bangkok, Charoen Krung 24, from Saturday to Dec 12.

This is a solo exhibition by South Korean artist Koo Yoeun-mo who began creating his signature character of Cynical Bear a decade ago to reflect his own cynical view towards society. Over the course of 10 years, the character gradually evolved through five solo exhibitions in the Kingdom.
For this show, the artist recreates a playground, allowing Cynical Bear, who has tasted the bitterness of adulthood, to revisit the memories of childhood once more. To him, "play" carries the meaning of simple amusement, as well as the significance of "living" and "life".
He has also blended Thai culture and its essence into the artwork to celebrate the country that is like a second home for Cynical Bear where he lives his daily life. Therefore, the country serves as a playground where living and life coexist for this Korean bear.

Cynical Bear always conveys a message. His previous messages addressed social issues and politics, which were often challenging to share with a broader audience. With this exhibition, he aspires to bridge the gap and connect with people more closely.
In fact, this exhibition contains numerous messages, many of which are messages directed towards Cynical Bear himself. These messages provide comfort and the strength he needs to persevere. He hopes that viewers can relate to and share in these messages.
