Get ready for Chiang Mai Design Week as it returns to the northern city from Dec 2-10, with 15 locations to check out and more than 200 activities for visitors to join in with.

Now in its ninth edition, Chiang Mai Design Week 2023 will be held under the theme "Transforming Local: Adapt / Enhance / Local / Grow". The theme showcases the innovative work and potential of local designers, artists, craftsmen, entrepreneurs of creative businesses and communities. All are brought together to the annual festival to underscore Chiang Mai's reputation as a home for creativity.

The city is rich in cultural heritage and art, and is open to the changing environment and innovative ideas, in addition to being one of the most popular destinations for tourists from all over the world.

More than 200 activities from food to arts and crafts as well as music will be held throughout the nine-day event from 10am to 8pm in 15 locations across the city and neighbouring districts. The main setting for the programmes are the areas around Chang Moi, Tha Phae Gate, Chiang Mai Old Town and TCDC Chiang Mai. Other locations outside the city include De Siam Antiques Chiangmai in Hang Dong district and the MAIIAM Contemporary Art Musuem in San Kamphaeng district.
