Held in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and the Thailand International Jazz Conference 2018, the concert will feature guest artists Fabrizio Bosso and local favourites Pomelo Town, who will come with selected music to satisfy both jazz aficionados and classical listeners.

The concert will start with the music of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who left a rich musical legacy that will never diminish in the hearts of Thai people. The programme will include jazz standards by the legendary Duke Ellington, George Gershwin and Hoagy Carmichael.

Symphonic jazz will be represented by Shostakovich's elegant Jazz Suite No.2, which features one of the most recognisable and tuneful waltzes of the 20th century. Other highlights are the collaboration between the TPO and Thai jazz group Pomelo Town.

Together, they bring traditional northern Thai music such as Noi Jai Ya and Say Lay Mao to life. These signature Pomelo Town works will be re-arranged for the performance with the symphony orchestra by Narong Prangcharoen.

Known for blending new sounds with a classic style, award-winning trumpeter and recording artist Fabrizio Bosso acts as Italian representative in this important year marking 150 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Italy. Brazilian guest conductor Ligia Amadio will conduct both shows.

Tickets cost 400, 600, 800, 1,000 and 1,500 baht (half-prices for students under 25 years old) and can be purchased from www.thaiticketmajor.com and PMH Box Office at 02-849-6565/6 ext 6603/4 (ext 6624 and 6626 on Friday and Saturday).
