CentralPlaza LardPrao will celebrate National Children's Day with a stunning showcase of Lego creations during Lego Amazing Kid's Day, from Thursday to Jan 18.

This is the first time in Thailand a total of 11 large Lego structures replicating 11 of Bangkok's historical venues will be displayed side-by-side. They were created from over 500,000 Lego bricks by a team of model builders and designers who took three months to complete the works.

Both children and adults will witness every detail of the 11 Lego structures, presented in a panoramic installation taking up to 8.5m in length altogether. The creations will inspire them to learn more about the origins of the 11 historical locales, now famous tourist destinations.

They include Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram, or the Marble Temple; Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, a European-style building resplendent with Carrera marble from Italy; the Golden Mount, or Phu Khao Thong, at Wat Saket Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan; and Wat Arun Ratchawararam. The latter two date back to the Ayutthaya period.

Other structures include Wat Ratchanatdaram Woraviharn, whose main attraction is Loha Prasat, the first and only metal castle of Thailand; the Democracy Monument, built to commemorate the establishment of the constitutional monarchy; Wat Suthat Thep Wararam, aka the Giant Swing Temple; and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, aka Wat Pha Kaeo.

The other three Lego sculptures portray the Talad Noi community, an old business hub located along Chao Phraya River; Yaowarat Road, known as Thailand's Chinatown; and Victory Monument, which symbolises the Thai victory in the Franco-Thai war.

A number of smaller-scale Lego creations related to the aforementioned historical venues will also be exhibited. Children are invited to enhance their imagination with many fun activities including the Lego Amazing Competition, from Thursday to Sunday. Up to 1,000 limited-edition Lego sets will be given away daily.
