Port will start preparing for their 2021 AFC Champions League games next week, their coach Sarawut Treephan said on Saturday.

The Klong Toey-based team are in Group J of the competition, which includes Kitchee FC of Hong Kong, Guangzhou FC from China and the winners from the play-off 2.

They will start their campaign with a game against Kitchee FC on June 22.

The team have advised their players to report for training at PAT Stadium on April 27.

Sarawut said: "Right now, we have some information about teams which are in our group already.

"We are busy doing our homework -- the AFC Champions League is an important tournament for us. The staff coaches will have the strategy ready soon.

"Although we are hosting all group games, it [the event] is a new experience for us so we have to be ready for it in the best possible way.

"We will be playing at least 4-5 warm-up matches before the start of the Champions League, but we don't know yet who our opponents will be for these games."

Port will also unveil their new Brazilian striker Barros Tardeli, who was the top scorer in Thai League 1 last season while playing for Samut Prakan City, at the AFC Champions League.
