One Championship sits among the world's major global sports media properties in terms of online viewership and engagement, according to a recent report by Nielsen.

The organisation has made extensive use of the numerous social media and streaming platforms available to better connect with its fans and the 2021 report shows that the approach has produced positive results.

Among the most popular social media and streaming apps used today, One ranked fourth on YouTube, 11th on TikTok, and 17th on Instagram.

More than 43 million people followed them in some form online, a number that is up by nearly 25 percent from the previous year, and only the Olympics, the European Championship football tournament and Formula 1 reported higher numbers.

Also according to the Nielsen report, in 2021 the organisation's digital viewership jumped from fourth to second place, and fans viewed One's videos over 14 billion times across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.

The organisation, led by its chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong of Thailand, showed exponential growth of 146 percent on TikTok alone, which highlights how the brand has been able to connect with its audience and deliver content in a way that is interesting and appealing to Gen-Z.

Meanwhile, American mixed martial arts promotion UFC fell to fifth place in global viewership, garnering just under seven billion views throughout 2021.

One Championship found itself outperforming the UFC on Facebook, too, with the latter only able to nab the eighth spot in the rankings.

Moreover, One is currently ranked No.4 in engagements. According to the Nielsen study, it gets an average of almost 17,000 engagements per post.
