Thai League 1 runners-up Bangkok United and former champions Muang Thong United will play the 'Charity Football Match 2023' on Saturday at Thunder Dome Stadium, the Kirins's home ground.

It was confirmed at a press conference to announce the friendly match that the proceeds from the event would be donated to the Special Olympics Thailand, the national association that looks after the development of sports among people with special needs.

Muang Thong United director Ronnarit Suewaja said on Tuesday his team are happy to be a part of the charitable activity again.

"This match would not have happened for the second time if the executive board members of both clubs were not keen to support the cause," said Ronnarit.

"Muang Thong United wanted to be part of this football match and play their part in creating a passion for sports among the intellectually handicapped people.

"We hope the football fans will come and support the match."

Bangkok United team manager Suradech Anantapong said: "It is a great honour for us to be part of this friendly game. It is like an annual activity for us now because we had a good feedback from fans last year.

"We are proud to join this charitable cause and help support the intellectually handicapped people.

"We also hope the Thai football fans will come and watch this match between two quality teams from Thai League 1."

The 'Charity Football Match 2023' between the Kirins and the Angels will kick off at 6.30pm on Saturday.

Tickets are available at Thai Ticket Major outlets priced at 100 and 200 baht. The VIP booths are priced at 8,000, 10,000 and 12,000 baht.
