Chonburi: Five golfers, led by Suvichaya Vinijchaitham, the champion in the national qualifiers, offered a captivating preview of the upcoming Honda LPGA Thailand tournament through a stunning display of contemporary Thai attire in a promotional photoshoot on Tuesday.

Alongside Suvichaya, Japanese players Chisato Iwai and Erika Hara, as well as Lee Mi-Hyang of South Korea and Shi Yuting of China, elegantly showcased their style in modern Thai fabric outfits adorned with intricate designs, thus promoting Thai cultural identity.

The golfers will take part in the highly anticipated LPGA tournament in Pattaya, where they will compete alongside a total of 72 leading golfers at the Siam Country Club Old Course in Pattaya starting Thursday.

Suvichaya, a 17-year-old Thai national team amateur golfer from Khon Kaen, expressed pride in showcasing her national identity by wearing traditional Thai fabric alongside world-class golfers.

"As a young person, I feel proud to be wearing Thai fabric alongside world-class golfers," she said. "It has intricate and beautiful designs and can be worn on different occasions. I expect more young people to wear Thai fabric. I would like Thai fans to cheer for me and my fellow Thai golfers competing in the tournament."

Hara added, "I am immensely delighted and impressed by the exquisite and eye-catching Thai attire. Participating in the tournament is a valuable experience. Not only do I get to compete with world-class golfers, but also inspire young people. Moreover, it provides an opportunity to learn about the beautiful culture."

Tickets for the tournament are now available in both general and VIP categories at www.hondalpgathailand.com. Individuals under 16 and those above 60 can register for free admission.
