Oam Suk Social Enterprise, a subsidiary of Bangchak Group, has extended its support to a network of cooperative service stations, enabling them to install rooftop solar panel systems for cost-saving purposes while facilitating the registration of acquired carbon credits with the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organisation (TGO) through the T-VER program.
The signing ceremony for the agreement to launch the "Cooperative Network to Combat Global Warming" project involved five major cooperatives that will serve as knowledge-sharing hubs. Gloyta Nathalang, Executive Vice President of Corporate Branding, Communication, and Sustainability Activation at Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, and Charnvit Trangadisaikul, Senior Executive Vice President of Investment at BCPG Public Company Limited, who both serve as directors of Oam Suk Social Enterprise Company Limited, jointly signed the agreement with the participating cooperatives. These cooperatives were represented by Thani Chanaklang, President of Phimai Agriculture Cooperative; Chen Nilamoon, President of Muang Lablae Agricultural Cooperative; Prathuan Kanta, Secretariat of Sanpatong Agricultural Cooperative; Kamol Lertprasertvej, President of Ban-Khaosok Para Rubber Fund Cooperative; and Samai Boonsan, President of Benchalak Agricultural Cooperative. The signing event also featured the presence of Kiatchai Maitriwong, Executive Director of the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organisation (TGO), and Vattana Pornpatkul, Executive Vice President of Oil Retail and Corporate Marketing Business within the Marketing Business Group at Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited.
The project's objective is to harness clean energy for electricity generation through the installation of solar panel systems, thereby reducing operational costs for cooperatives. This initiative aligns with the mission of Oam Suk Social Enterprise Company Limited, established by Bangchak and BCPG, to support agricultural cooperatives. In the future, as more cooperatives adopt solar panel systems, Bangchak will facilitate the registration of resultant carbon credits through the TGO's T-VER program. The revenue generated will be shared with the cooperatives, which will also serve as educational and demonstration centers for other interested cooperatives.
