Santol Festival in Lop Buri

From July 6-20, the "25th Sweet Santol And Good Products Of Lop Buri Festival" will take place in front of Muang Lop Buri district office with the aim to promote local fruit and agro-tourism and create public awareness for the conservation of agricultural resources.

Talung in Muang, Lop Buri, is an agro-tourist destination, especially for the growing of santol. Trees planted by villagers on land covering over 1,200 rai yield high-quality sweet santol fruit in June and July. Santol from there is in high demand and can be preserved as krathon loikaew (santol in syrup), krathon chae-im (sweetened dried santol), krathon kuan (sweet santol paste) and more.

During this festival, visitors can also visit the Chao Phor Phra Kan Shrine to worship the sacred spirit and learn local history through old artefacts of different periods on display in the Somdej Phra Narai National Museum at Phra Narai Ratchaniwet Palace.

Crab eating fair

From June 29 until July 3, the "14th Eating Crab, Enjoying the Sea View (In the Garden)" fair will be held in the Central Park of CentralPlaza Rama II in Bang Khun Thian district, Bangkok.

This event is claimed to be Thailand's biggest crab-eating festival. It is the first time for any fair to present the 10 most delicious types of crab, which will be cooked by celeb chef Natthapong Norchuwes, Chef Fang of Krua Indie TV show, into five dishes. Admission is free.

Concert in a barrack

On July 9 from 6pm to midnight, the Infantry Centre's Radio Station of Thanarat Military Barracks in Pran Buri district, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, will host the "32nd Anniversary of Love 96.25MHz" concert at the centre's multipurpose space.

On the list of participating singers and bands are Od Khiriboon and Blue Shade, Tu Poptorn, Atom Chanakan and Season Five, Chart Suchart and Musketeers. Also, there will be fun activities from midday to midnight.

Tickets are priced at 350 baht per person, 500 baht per person plus a free T-shirt, 2,000 baht for admission, accommodation and two T-shirts for two persons and 10,000 baht for a VIP table and a set of food and drinks for eight persons.

All proceeds from the concert after cost deduction will be donated to a project to establish a vinyl record museum at the radio station.

Travel Fair

From July 14-17, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Thai Travel Agents Association and the Association of Domestic Travel will host the 19th Thai International Travel Fair at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok. The aim is to stimulate travel and tourism among Thais during the low season.

The event will feature more than 1,000 booths offering travel products and services covering domestic and overseas destinations from travel agencies, airlines, hotels and resorts, spas, car rental companies, restaurants and many other related services from all over Thailand. There will be some very attractive packages and bargains for Thai travellers.
