The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles has organised a mobile exhibition to celebrate the 88th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

Held under the concept of "Craft Journey: The SUPPORT Textiles Traveling Exhibition", the mobile museum will host its exhibition in 44 locations from now until next October.

SUPPORT stands for the foundation's promotion of Supplementary Occupations And Related Techniques Of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit Of Thailand. The mobile exhibition will bring the Queen Mother's museum of textiles closer to people nationwide. It will also show the initiative and works of the Queen Mother that has encouraged locals to preserve their cultural heritage. There will also be a mobile reading corner, sample textiles from each region, a giant sculpture of the god Hanuman and workshops such as weaving or dying cloth with natural colours.

This month, the Craft Journey has been organised in Ayutthaya and Chiang Rai. In December, it will move to Chiang Mai National Museum between Dec 3 and 4 and be part of Chiang Mai Design Week from Dec 5-10. In Lamphun, the mobile event will stop at Hariphunchai National Museum between Dec 16-20 and the Royal Folk Arts And Crafts Centre in Mae Hong Son from Dec 23-27. There is no admission fee.

Tourism seminar comes to Kempinski

The Pacific Asia Travel Association has joined hands with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau and Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok to host the "Asia Pacific Tourism Recovery Trends & Outlook" forum on Dec 7 from 3-6pm at the Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok.

Topics include Thailand Tourism Update & Outlook; Air Travel Trends in the Asia-Pacific; Aviation Outlook and Trends; Hotel Performances in the Asia- Pacific; Hospitality Outlook & Trends, and The Future of Mice (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions).

AIRLINES UPDATE

- NokAir will launch direct flights between Ubon Ratchathani and Hat Yai on Dec 18.

The flights will be available three times a week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The outbound flight will depart from Ubon Ratchathani airport at 9.25am and the inbound flight will leave Hat Yai airport at 11.55am. The travel time is two hours.

- Thai Smile will launch its first Bangkok-Loei flight on Dec 10.

The flight will be available daily. It will depart from Suvarnabhumi airport at 11.15am. For the return trip from Loei, the flight will depart at 1pm. The travel time is one hour and 10 minutes.

Booking is available now for flights from Dec 10 until March 27, 2021.
