SEOUL: K-pop superstar BTS snagged the No.1 Billboard Hot 100 song chart with “My Universe,” its collaborative new single with Coldplay.

“My Universe” launched at No.1 on Billboard Hot 100, dethroning The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” that had stayed at No.1 for six straight weeks, according to Billboard reported by Pulse.

It marks the sixth Hot 100 No.1 for BTS since the seven-member K-pop boy group took the top spot with “Dynamite” in September 2020. Since then, “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” scored the No.1 place in October 2020, “Life Goes On” in December, “Butter” in June 2021 and “Permission to Dance” in July.

Coldplay revisited Hot 100 No.1 after “Viva La Vida” peaked the chart in 2008.

It is also the BTS’ fifth No.1 Hot 100 debut. BTS ties for the most first-place arrivals with Drake and Ariana Grande, according to Billboard.

The song premiers atop the Digital Songs Sales chart and the Hot & Alternative Songs. It is BTS’ first No.1 at the Hot & Alternative Songs chart. The track begins at No.21 on Streaming Songs chart.

“My Universe” also debuts atop the Rolling Stones Top 100 Songs chart. BTS has become the first Korean act to top the chart.
