Actress Jane Seymour to tour

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

British-American actress Jane Seymour will visit Thailand between late December and early January as part of her global campaign to prevent future pandemics through better protection of nature.

Seymour will tour the kingdom with her family, said Bangkok-based charity Freeland, a counter-trafficking organisation.

Seymour, 70, is a Bond girl filmed with Roger Moore in Live and Let Die (1973) and who starred in blockbuster movies and TV movie franchises including Perfectly Prudence (2011).

While in Thailand, she and her family will support a local Covid-relief effort in Phuket, visit a government-NGO programme to stop wildlife trafficking, and shoot a public service announcement about preventing pandemics by addressing their root causes.

The Emmy and Golden Globe winner and her actress/director/photographer daughter, Katie Flynn, also will appear at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand (FCCT) in Bangkok on Jan 6 to promote a Bangkok film festival entry, A Better World, Beyond Pandemics. Ms Flynn will also debut a photo exhibition of her work.

Freeland launched a global campaign in early 2020 called "EndPandemics" in partnership with the Thailand-based multinational company, B.Grimm.

To date, Seymour has voiced two public service announcements for EndPandemics, sponsored by B.Grimm, which ran on CNN and CNBC in 2020-2021, reaching over 700 million people, with the message "it's time to change our relationship with nature."
