Here is the latest in Korean entertainment news this week. The Seoul Music Awards will be held in Bangkok for the first time, and Daily Dose Of Sunshine, a new TV drama, takes viewers on a behind-the-scenes journey to a psychiatric department.
Seoul Music Awards in Bangkok
The wait is finally over as the 33rd Seoul Music Awards will take place for the first time in Bangkok in January at Rajamangala National Stadium. Organised by Y Global Music and Sport Seoul, the prestigious Korean music award has revealed its line-up, including GOT7's BamBam and Choi Young-jae, Sandara, Tiffany Young, NCT Dream, Kang Daniel, Zerobaseone, RIIZE, Young Tak, NMIXX, STAYC and Kiss of Life.
Tickets priced at 1,800, 2,800 3,800, 4,500 and 4,800 baht are now available at Ticketmelon.com. Meanwhile, tickets priced at 5,800, 6,400 and 6,800 baht can be purchased at yglobal-music.com. All ticket holders can enter SMA Exhibition free of charge. Tickets priced from 3,800 to 6,800 will be randomly selected to participate in the red carpet and sound check.

Mental Health Drama
Most Korean hospital TV dramas focus on a group of doctors, but a new series on Netflix, Daily Dose Of Sunshine, explores a psychiatric department through the perspective of nurses. Jung Da-eun (Park Bo-young) is a nurse at Myungshin Hospital University who gets transferred from Internal Medicine to the Psychiatric Department. Through the eyes of Da-eun, viewers experience bipolar, delusional and panic disorders.
Based on the Kakao webtoon of the same title by Lee Ra-ha, a former nurse, the script is well written with detailed backgrounds of each character. The solid script helps viewers reflect on and relate to the cases. Besides patients, doctors and nurses, patients' family members also struggle with mental well-being. The drama transforms the frightful portrayal of psychiatric departments in media as places filled of crazy people. Instead, the series presents a psychiatric ward where patients face mental health challenges and rely on the expertise of medical professionals for support.
