The intricate works of Soviet composer and pianist Nikolai Kapustin will be enhanced with the addition of percussion for the first time in Thailand for "Kapustin Piano x Percussion", at Sala Sudasiri Sobha, Lat Phrao 41, on Sunday at 4pm.

The groundbreaking musical performance will feature the talent of Thai pianist Tipwatoo Aramwittaya and Polish percussionist Lukasz Kurzydlo. They will perform Kapustin's Sunrise (Daybreak), VariationsMotive Force and 8 Concert Etudes. The demanding piano part, known for its complexity, will be complemented by dynamic and innovative percussion techniques creating a performance bursting with energy and flair.

Highlighting the programme will be the world premiere of Isaan Toccata by acclaimed composer Morakot Cherdchoo-ngam, blending traditional and contemporary sounds in an unforgettable musical experience.

Tipwatoo has two master's degrees -- MSc in Performance Science and MPerf in Piano Performance -- from the Royal College of Music, London. She is currently a collaborative pianist for the saxophone studio at the College of Music, Mahidol University, and is the founder of Pin's Piano Studio.

Kurzydlo, meanwhile, has co-created performances with the best theatres in Poland as well as with the Pichet Klunchun Dance Company. He also participated in an international concert tour with Thai maestro Nat Yontararak.

Tickets cost 500, 1,000, 1,800 and 2,500 baht and can be purchased from salasudasirisobha.com.
