The surge in the number of tourists at Ayutthaya Historical Park, the rage for wearing Thai traditional costumes, and the demand for reprints of the first Thai "Jindamanee" are among the spin-offs from the TV drama set in the reign of King Narai (1656-1688), when Ayutthaya prosperously engaged in commercial and diplomatic activities with other nations.

Channel 3 has placed Neung Daow Fah Diew in the prime time slot for Wednesday and Thursday nights, with its premiere on April 25.
The historical action/drama takes viewers back to the era of the last Ayutthaya monarch, King Ekkathat, when the Burmese army burned down the capital in 1767; and the establishment of the Thon Buri Kingdom by Phya Tak later crowned as King Taksin.
Neung Daow Fah Diew is another big production by TV Scene, notable for the award-winning Koon Seuk, which depicted Ayutthaya after the first Burmese occupation in the mid-16th century and the liberation by King Naresuan, whose multiple battles against the neighbouring invader involved the warlord Sema, played by Atichart Chumnanont.
Atichart plays King Taksin in Neung Daow Fah Diew, which according to the TV Scene's producer, aims to promote patriotism. However, it will not fall short of romance between Khan Thong and Mangmao, played by Jirayu Tangsrisuk and Natapohn Tameeruks.
Adapted from a novel by Wannawat, the plot has Khan Tong disguising himself as a eunuch in the royal courts, to find out who's behind the mysterious death of his parents. After learning the truth, he joins Phya Tak's army in restoring the country's independence from Burma.
Whether this new drama will fare as well as Buppaesannivas, we will have to wait and see.
