From Saturday until March 14 at Gallery Ver, see "Where Echoes Never End", the latest solo exhibition by celebrated contemporary artist Piyarat Piyapongwiwat who resonates disparate voices of our current political climate that pronounce many voices of the voiceless through her series of multimedia installations.

"Where Echoes Never End" sees the artist montage hundreds of pieces of video footage captured during 10 years of her career coupling found images. The exhibition works on the juxtaposition of anecdotes of personal memories, marginal people in our political landscape and the artist's foreground interest in aspects of voice where the same echoes from a decade ago are still clear and explicit.

Based between Chiang Mai and Phrae provinces, Piyarat is known as an artist whose work focuses on documentary as a means of expression and questions the conditions and implications of the global economy and social issues. Whether it's video, photography, text or mixed-media installations, her multidisciplinary works and art reflect her experience and surroundings, and investigate contemporary social and cultural issues such as gender identity, subcultures and political difficulties.

Piyarat graduated with a bachelor's from Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Montpellier Agglomération, France. She exhibits regionally and nationally, such as the 6th Asian Art Biennial: Negotiating The Future, Taiwan; the 12th Gwangju Biennale: Imagined Borders, South Korea; and 2016 Seismograph: Sensing The City -- Art In The Urban. She was artist-in-residence with Arts Initiative Tokyo in October 2017, and her works were shown in the 6th Asian Art Biennial 2017.

"Where Echoes Never End" by Piyarat Piyapongwiwat with guest curator Pathompong Manakitsomboon runs until March 14, with an opening reception on Saturday at 6.30pm at Project Room, Gallery VER, Narathiwat Ratchanakarin 22. For more information, call 089-988-5890, or go to vergallery.com.
