To mark the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, a German composer and pianist whose music continues to inspire and enrich the lives of people all over the globe, Pro Musica presents a series of three recitals featuring some of his early works and masterpieces, at three different venues.
The first is "The Salieri Sonatas" concert which presents a repertoire of three violin and piano sonatas Beethoven dedicated to his celebrated teacher Antonio Salieri -- Sonata For Piano And Violin No.1 In D Major; Sonata For Piano And Violin No.2 In A Major; and Sonata For Piano And Violin No.3 In E-flat Major.
They will be performed by Tasana Nagavajara (violin) and Pornphan Banternghansa (piano), at Neilson Hays Library, Surawong Road, on Friday at 7.30pm and Saturday at 6pm.
The second is "The Grand Piano Sonatas" featuring two of his piano masterpieces full of passion and energy -- Piano Sonata No.21, Waldstein and Piano Sonata No.32 In C Minor. They will be rendered by Ariya Laothitipong and Tarin Supprakorn, at Goethe Institute, Sathon 1, on Dec 8 at 7.30pm.
The last in the series will be "The Piano Concertos (Chamber Version)" which will take place at Siam Society, Asok Road, on Dec 15 and 16 at 7pm. Performing on both evenings will be the Pro Musica Ensemble directed by Leo Phillips, with Mintra Rungruengsorakarn in a performance of Piano Concerto No.3 In C Minor and Akkra Yeunyonghattaporn in a performance of Piano Concerto No.4 In G Major.
