Bacon or moowan (sweet pork), which do you prefer? Well, not for breakfast but for the name of Khao Kheow Open Zoo's newest member.

The famous Chon Buri Zoo is inviting the public to take part in selecting the best name for its baby pygmy hippopotamus, who has been one of the zoo's stars since its birth a few weeks ago. The young sweetheart is a half-sister of Mootun, who is about a year older. Mootum himself is an adorable boy with his own legion of fans.

Mootun's younger sister spends much of the day resting. According to the zoo, the best times of day to see her are between 8am and 9am and from 2.30pm to 3pm as she is most active at these times. Besides the pygmy hippos, a number of other animals have also been born in the zoo over the past six months, from giraffes and zebras to elephant and common hippos. Apart from those young animals, visitors can also enjoy several entertaining shows, including the penguin parade.

The zoo is located in a part of Si Racha district that has no public transportation. If you don't drive, you can take a bus to Bang Phra and hire a taxi from there.

The voting for the name of the new baby pygmy hippo can be done online at forms.gle/F6dkHzRA5hEsxWoZ7 from now until April 5. Participants who choose the name that wins the most votes will be entitled to join a lucky draw. The prizes include 3,000 baht and 10 year passes to the open zoo. The lucky draw results will be announced on April 12 via Khao Kheow Open Zoo's official Facebook page.
