The US embassy is calling for proposals for the "US Ambassadors Fund For Cultural Preservation (AFCP) 2022 Grants Program". The deadline for the submission of concept notes is Nov 28.

Since its inception in 2001, the programme has helped preserve cultural sites, objects and forms of traditional expression throughout Thailand and around the world.

The AFCP 2022 Grants Program supports the preservation of archaeological sites, historic buildings and monuments, museum collections, and forms of traditional cultural expression such as indigenous languages and crafts. The minimum funding available for individual projects is US$10,000 (328,000 baht) per project and the maximum is $500,000.

Eligible project applicants must be reputable and accountable non-commercial entities that are registered and active in SAM.gov and able to demonstrate that they have the requisite experience and capacity to manage projects to preserve cultural heritage.

This may include non-governmental organisations, museums, ministries of culture, or similar institutions and organisations, including US-based organisations.

Interested applicants are invited to join two project design webinars. Topics include "Engaging Communities Through Heritage" on Nov 16 and "Heritage And Sustainable Development" on Nov 19, both at 8pm.

Each concept note must be in English and should be emailed to Bangkokpd@state.gov. Successful candidates will be announced early next year and they will be encouraged to submit full project proposals.
