WATCH

Bros / Directed by Nicholas Stiller

Who’s in it?

Billy Eichner, Luke Macfarlane, Ts Madison, Monica Raymund, Guillermo Díaz, Guy Branum and Amanda Bearse.

What’s it about?

Two men with commitment problems attempt a relationship. A smart, swoony and heartfelt comedy about how hard it is to find another tolerable human being to go through life with.

Why watch it?

It’s Universal Pictures first romantic comedy about two gay men maybe, possibly, probably, stumbling towards love. Maybe. Also, Eichner is the first openly gay man to co-write and star in his own major studio film — and it features an entirely LGBTQ+ principal cast. Oh, plus boy love.

Septet: The Story of Hong / Directed by Sammo Hung, Ann Hui, Patrick Tam, Yuen Wo Ping, Johnnie To, the late Ringo Lam and Tsui Hark.

Who’s in it?

What’s it about?

As a septet is a group of seven people playing music together, the film is a sonorous symphony created in concert by seven of Hong Kong’s most revered directors. Led by To, each director was responsible for making a short film on a Hong Kong set within a designated decade from the 50s to the future.

Why watch it?

It is the latest work to mark the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the homeland of seven well-known Hong Kong film directors, who documented their deep personal feelings for the city on film.
