A call for an end to unethical chicken farming will be channelled through different forms of art during the "Egg – E – Egg Aargh: Chicken Art Festival" which will take place in front of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Pathumwan intersection, on Saturday from 4-9pm.

Organised by World Animal Protection Thailand to raise awareness on animal welfare, particularly chickens, and its effects on our health and the environment, the event brings artists and activists to voice their concerns on chicken rights through unique art in four different fields.
Their attempts are based on statistics which shows that two-thirds of around 72 billion chickens killed for their meat each year live in an inhumane and gruesome environment.
On showcase will be The Last Suffer, a mixed media and collage installation by artist Nakrob Moonmanas and Maria Poonlertlarp, ambassador of the World Animal Protection Thailand.
Inspired by The Last Supper, a famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci, this collaborative work will feature a banquet table with a bucket of chicken and viewers are allowed to interact with the work.
A4 Life is an installation featuring a 3m-tall chicken made from bamboo coops and local wicker work which stands on a space no bigger than an A4 sheet. It was produced by Khru Siang from a molam and puppet group called Dek Thevada. Visitors are invited to voice their opinions on this art.
To be staged at 6pm will be Kult Of Chicken, a performance art by Nontawat Machai, a founder of the Lan Yim Theatre troupe, which aims to bludgeon the chicken industry into reducing and putting an end to the inhumane environment of the industry.
Another highlight will be Prince Lo And The Peculiar Chicken, a fantasy-romantic likay performance by Silpathorn artist Pradit Prasartthong and his Anatta Theatre Troupe, at 6.45pm.
Also displayed will be 20 paintings by youngsters from a contest held under the theme "Antibiotic-resistant Bacteria From Factory Farming". Live music will be presented by indie pop bands Laan and Beagle Hug. All artworks will move to be exhibited within the art centre until March 5.
