A number of original art toys by experienced and emerging artists, designers and art toy creators from Hong Kong will be exhibited in the Hong Kong Pavilion at "Thailand Toy Expo 2023", which will take place at CentralWorld, Ratchadamri Road, from Thursday to Sunday.

This year, the island has its own pavilion for the first time located at the Atrium zone on the 3rd floor where the "Hong Kong Art Toy Story" exhibition will feature remarkable works of 20 carefully chosen Hong Kong artists to capture the hearts of Thai audiences and open up new perspectives and experiences with art toys.

Hong Kong artists and designers have popularised art toys around the world since 1980, creating and developing new styles that make art toys more than just toys. They are today regarded as one of the leaders in the industry and are often invited to exhibit in many countries.

At the expo, art toy fans and collectors have the chance to meet and interact with five of Hong Kong's big names who will bring along their iconic and valuable collectables. They include:

Pat Lee, a cartoonist and creative director who has partnered with DC and Marvel to create famous franchises such as Batman, Superman, Iron Man and X-Men; and a co-founder of Toy Genius Limited that built a great empire in the international art toy industry.

Ryan Lee, a former trainer and training specialist with more than 20 years of experience in the wellness industry, who created Rumbbell, a cute and friendly character to encourage people to pay more attention to their health.

Winson Ma, a graphic designer-turned-creative director who creates art toys as a hobby and developed the well-known characters -- Apexplorers, Apexworker, Firespecter, Necoco chocolate cat, Polarla and the Artdol Family.

Miloza Ma, an illustrator and toy designer widely recognised for the colourful Angel Cat And Lady series.

Orson Li, creator of the popular character, Nick the Robot, which aims to instil a "Believe You Can" attitude and friendship in people pursuing their dreams.

Among the 15 Hong Kong up-and-coming artists participating in the exhibition will be Felix Ip, Gilbert Yam, Gino Lai, Helen Tam, Hoon Leung, John Ng Hoi Tai, Joseph Tang, KC Wong, Knoa Chung, LeonLollipop, Mickey Mic, Sunny Tam, Timmy Lee, Tomm Wong and Victor Wong.
