The Bangkok Gay Men's Chorus (BK GMC) presents its debut performance at Goethe Institute, Sathon 1, on Sunday at 7pm.
This a co-performance as part of "The Enchanted Night Of The Opera" with Shyam Choir led by Vuthiphand Pongthnalert, head of the Bellavoce Society Thailand.
The evening will be an opportunity for the newly formed gay men's chorus, also the first of its kind in Thailand, to showcase the talent and diversity of the LGBTI community.
According to vocal coach and artistic director Vuthiphand, in their first show, the chorus wants to share a message of love, inclusivity and acceptance with the world. He hopes their music will inspire audiences to create a more equitable and compassionate world.
The group was founded last December by Vitaya Saeng-Aroon with the purpose of uniting gay men who possess a deep-seated passion for music and are committed to serving the LGBTI community through volunteer work while also supporting Bellavoce Society's musical endeavours.
This choir's talent level is up to international standards and indeed has gained worldwide acceptance.
There is no admission fee, although donations are welcome and will go towards the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under the Royal Patronage of HM the Queen and Ban Dek Ramintra School in support of their important work.
