As Halloween looms closer, Japan Anime Movie Thailand and Taiwanese anime distributor Muse have announced an exciting (though quite haunting) presence at the upcoming convention "Junji Ito Horror House In Thailand 2023", a debut exhibition by renowned Japanese "Master of Horror" Junji Ito. The exhibition brings his collection of spooky artwork to Thai audiences for the very first time and will be held from Oct 7 to Dec 31 at MBK Center, 4th floor.

Ito is known for his peculiar and intricate art style that pairs well with his twisted way of storytelling incorporating body horror throughout his extensive portfolio. The talented manga artist is responsible for creating some of the most terrifying Japanese horror mangas and short stories that have inspired many adaptations, such as Uzumaki, Tomie, Slug Girl, Long Dream and The Hanging Balloons, with the most recent, Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales Of The Macabre, available on Netflix. His unique style of artwork and great storytelling have made him a household name among teenage manga fans since the late 80s and he's still one of the most recognised manga artists today. Even the renowned Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro calls him the "undisputed master of horror in Japan".
Following feedback from more than 100,000 visitors in Taiwan, "Junji Ito Horror House in Thailand 2023" is based on the anime series Junji Ito Collection, or Treasury Of Horror in the manga edition. The exhibition is rumoured to feature original artwork, behind-the-scenes video, and most notably, an AR area where guests are given a headset that plays special effects and sound to accompany the visuals and get the maximum haunting experience that they have never seen before.
