Penang Global Tourism, the tourism bureau of the Malaysian state, is promoting "Experience Penang 2020". With the tagline "The Diversity Of Asia", the new campaign aims to highlight various aspects of Penang's rich attractions, which range from arts, culture and heritage architecture to food and natural sites.

YB Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang State Executive Councilor (State Minister) of Tourism Development, Arts, Culture & Heritage, said during a recent roadshow in Bangkok: "This newest campaign is being launched across the globe as part of our strategy to promote Penang as a world-class destination representing an exceptional example of a multicultural town in Southeast Asia with the trading and civilisation exchanges of Malaysian, Chinese, Indian and European influences. The campaign is aimed to attract visitors to its shores with more exciting features and happenings for the year 2020."

In Thailand, the new Penang tourism campaign has support from two partners, namely Krung Thai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) and AirAsia. KTC plans to launch a related initiative, call "Retro Go Penang", offering special benefits to its card members visiting the Malaysian island from August until January 2020. AirAsia, meanwhile, will provide tactical promotion on its Bangkok-Penang route from August until October 2019. Details will be announced on the Facebook fan pages of KTC and AirAsia.
