A lovely furry friend

TRAVEL

Strolling in Osaka Castle Park, I came across this cute Shiba Inu. First, I saw her walking happily with her owner, who was in his 60s. From time to time, some visitors asked the owner for permission to take a picture with his dog. I kept looking at them and waiting for my time.

Finally, I saw him put his dog on top of a garden rock. She sat and looked around while the owner was taking some pictures of her. Onlookers, including me, gathered around them. The owner seemed to know that his dog was the centre of attention. He let us take pictures of and also with his dog.

She was so lovely and didn't shy away from cameras or strangers. She let me touch her head and hug her too. I noticed the background of Osaka Castle when I sat on my knees to take her photos. So I got this picture with her adorable smile.

When travelling, it's not unusual to run into many faces. While many just flash by, others linger on not just in your memory but also in your memory cards. It might be a person, an animal or even a non-living thing.

If you have taken a picture of such a face with a story you wish to share, a face with the eyes looking directly at the camera signifying that the shot was made not against their will, feel free to email the photo and a brief text to pongpetm@bangkokpost.co.th. By the way, the minimum file size is 2MB.
