The National Museum will extend its current exhibition, "Evolving Civilisation: From Lop Buri To Ayutthaya Periods", to Sept 30.

Ancient items from the Lop Buri, or Lavo kingdom, (5th-7th centuries) are on display including bronze Buddha sculptures, artefacts with Khmer influences and ancient lintels.

The arts from Lop Buri was passed on to artists during the Ayutthaya kingdom and the present Rattanakosin era. The special exhibition is organised at Siwamokhaphiman Hall, the main building of the national museum.

The national museum is also displaying countless national treasures in eight other exhibition buildings, including the latest two returned lintels that once were part of the Khmer-style Prasat Nong Hong sanctuary in Buri Ram and Prasat Khao Lon in Sa Kaeo.

Located on Na Phrathat Road, the national museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 9am and 4pm. It is closed on Monday, Tuesday and holidays.
