To raise awareness of the importance of music and contemporary art, composer Piyawat Louilarpprasert is holding Beyond Boundaries: Thailand New Music And Arts Symposium 2019 at the multi-function room on the first floor of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Pathumwan intersection, this weekend.
A collaboration between the Thailand Music and Arts Organization, Taceti Ensemble and Ensemble Laboratory, the event is a platform for composers and artists to showcase their works and talent, as well as help take Thailand's music scene to another level.
Programmes include an art exhibition, music and art seminars, music-reading workshops, and performances. Participating artists will be Anothai Nitibhon, Chatori Shimzu, Jiradej Setabundhu, Jason Buchanan, Sergio Cote and more.
Piyawat is a PhD music researcher at Cornell University, New York. He serves as the artistic director of the event.
