Hungarian pianist Adam Gyorgy will return to the Kingdom to perform a particularly challenging work with the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra during "Hungarian Gala" at the Main Hall of Thailand Cultural Centre, Ratchadaphisek Road, on Friday at 7.30pm.

Presented by the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation under the patronage of HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, the concert will start with Hungarian Sketches, a suite for orchestra by Hungarian composer Bela Bartok.
Gyorgy will then give a performance of Piano Concerto No.1 In E-Flat Major, a four-movement piece composed by Franz Liszt when he was only 19. The evening programme will conclude with Johannes Brahms' Hungarian Dances Nos.1 & 5.
Gyorgy, 41, is a multiple award winner. He was accepted into the Bela Bartok Conservatory of Budapest in 1994 and won the National Youth Piano Competition in 1998 and Hungary's Pianist Award in 2000 before he went to study at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music for six years.
He achieved worldwide recognition when he performed at the opening ceremony of Euro 2012 -- the European Football Championship in Warsaw -- where his unique interpretation of Chopin's Winterwind was televised to 300 million people across the globe.

Bringing an unprecedented modern twist to classical piano performance, he filmed one of his music videos, A Day In New York, in the monumental New York Grand Central Terminal in 2013. He is a regular performer at New York's Carnegie Hall and tours extensively around the world.
Conducting the orchestra on the evening will be Sergey Smbatyan, an Armenian conductor and founder of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.
