Simple joys are awaiting everyone during "Hap-PLE-ness", which is running at Room 249 of River City Bangkok, Charoen Krung 24, until Jan 14.

Held in collaboration with Pagoda the Art Club, this is a debut solo exhibition by Jarinee Mateekul, fondly known as Lung Ple (or Uncle Ple), who shows an easy way to happiness and encourages everyone to just add their name into the word "happiness" as in "Hap-TOOM-ness", "Hap-ZOEY-ness" and "Hap-THIP-ness".

Viewers are invited to share their own uncomplicated joy that brings comfort and ease to their hearts, be it indulging in ice cream, sipping wine, sitting quietly, lying down, putting on make-up, arranging flowers, brewing coffee or gossiping.

Jarinee embarked on her television career right after graduation and now owns a TV production company. She found herself enchanted by the art world over a decade ago.

Under the guidance of ML Chiratorn Chirapravati, or Kru To, and Somnuek Klangnok, or Kru Parn, she started an utterly joyous life journey of daily drawing in her own style, sketching everyone she knew and nearly every important figures in the world. She even coined her own nickname, calling herself "Lung Ple, Draws No Resemblance".

She just completed her 20th sketchbook and this leads to her first show that invites everyone to experience happiness in their own unique approach.

There is no admission fee. Visit rivercitybangkok.com or call 02-237-0077/8.
