A variety of halal food from popular eateries are presented during "The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi Halalicious", which is running at M Grand Hall, ground floor of The Mall Bangkapi, Lat Phrao Road, until Wednesday.
Held in collaboration with the Thai Muslim Trade Association (TMTA) and Muslim Thai Post, the grandiose halal festival serves as a platform to elevate halal food business and products to international levels as Thailand is the world's 11th largest exporter of halal food products.
Both Muslims and foodies can indulge in over 100 delicious dishes from international halal restaurants including Just Salt Steak, an Italian-Thai fusion restaurant popular for its grilled beef tongue and beef tongue fried rice; and Brother's Kitchen, a Hong Kong style Islam-Chinese restaurant and café whose signature dishes include duck and black sea wonton.
Al Merroz Hotel Bangkok brings its popular quesadillas, tacos and premium puffs and pies, while At Home Delicious Halal Cuisine presents premium dishes such as beef Wellington, pot pie and timber ring.
Expect to enjoy home-made wood-fired oven pizza filled with cheese and flavourful sauce, burgers, baked spinach and cheese, and pasta from Pizza Rof Boy, a halal-style Italian-Mexican restaurant by chef Yis-Syed Zulkifli Zai Hammadi, a Thai-Pakistani chef who has received the Robinhood inspiration award.
Other highlights include Hainanese chicken rice which comes with Singaporean-style soy broth and three types of dipping sauce from Homchui Kaomunkai and premium black Angus beef from Nua Tair.
Also available are fresh, premium-grade local and imported fruits as well as dried fruits that meet halal and Food and Drug Administration standards from OrganicWa Thailand.
This is an opportunity to learn more about Thai-Muslim culture presented through a Nasheed acapella today and Wednesday at 2.30pm and 5pm. There will also be a flying pizza show tomorrow at 5pm and a daily cooking demonstration by famous chefs at 4pm.
