Tower of Power New Year’s party at Siam@Siam Design Hotel Bangkok

Siam@Siam presents an uncommon year-end celebration experience featuring waves of amazing food and a walkabout-friendly party domain that spans 4 venues and 5 bars, catered by 5 gourmet chefs to the grooves and beats of 5 bands that will rock the house literally from the bottom all the way to the top.

The fun kicks off on the ground floor at Party House One with an entertainment “appetiser” of sorts — just a bit of a mingle & nosh warmup to get the festive juices flowing with an international dinner buffet that includes ocean fresh seafood on ice, sushi bar plus plenty of liquid refreshment and live music.

A word about this utterly unique venue: If you haven’t had the pleasure of a prior visit, be prepared for a sensory-sizzling experience that seems inspired by the fevered dreams of a worried art school student on the eve of a big exam.

The moment you step inside the lobby at Siam@Siam Design Hotel, it becomes abundantly clear that “design” is a tauntingly ironic understatement. The boutique property’s visually riotous, kaleidoscopic art as décor motif envelopes the visitor in a surround-sight swirl of wildly diverse artworks and installations.

Think: Andy Warhol meets Willy Wonka.

Strolling through the lobby area, guests will encounter a menagerie of artistic curiosities that might make them think they are hallucinating, including an outsized and cartoonishly-hued chair display, a cluster of Dali-esque absurdist paintings staring down from the ceiling and a wall mounted battery of bizarre minimalist photos. But they may rest assured that there is nothing wrong with their perception — the reality-shifting décor is in fact a signature facet of the Siam@Siam experience: Art for art’s sake. That’s just how they roll, so get over it and enjoy scenery!

The next phase of our New Year sojourn into bacchanalia is the 11th-floor function room where merrymakers will find a “Candy Lounge” of nibbles and tipples, including a sweeping selection of desserts, snacks and yum-inducing canapés plus free-flow cocktails, while an easy listening musical trio and DJ will keep the evening’s mood momentum sufficiently energised.

And speaking of canapes, we’re not talking mere crackers and cheese. Under the concept “French Technique, 100% Thai Ingredients”, Chef Molthep Kamolsilp has created an inspired selection of poshed-up finger food that exquisitely marries top-quality local delicacies and produce with European culinary heritage.

Highlights include Okra Salad with Shiso Jelly on Rice Cracker, a meat-free creation of okra salsa, tofu, orange zest and traditional Thai herbs, while Pohn Pla Pocket features a pureed fish-chilli dip wrapped in Olive Leaf. There’s also a Mushroom Dip and exotic Garden Salad with its vibrant palette of flavours, as well as a Crabmeat Curry and Lotus Root served on crispy rice bread.

After a fluted glass or two of the sparkly it’s time to move on. Taking a page from the songbook of pop singer Pink, who famously proclaimed “I’m comin’ up so you better you better get this party started”, guests can bring their party on! mojo up to 25th floor for some additional grownup refreshments and friendly banter at La Vue Champagne lounge, where the views are simply divine.

And just when you think you can’t get any higher, up you go to The Roof Gastro for an epic Battle of the DJs and countdown blast with signature drinks and a bird’s eye view of the city’s stroke-of-midnight fireworks displays.

And with a shindig of such soaring magnitude on the Mother Of All Party nights, who wants bother with driving? Go ahead and leave your car at home, because Siam@Siam Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of National Stadium BTS.
