Bulgarian pianist Ivajla Kirova will give a Bangkok debut recital featuring the traditional repertoire, modern music and her own compositions at Siam Ratchada Auditorium, Fortune Town, Ratchadaphisek Road, on March 1 at 7pm.

Presented by D&M Music Studio and Yamaha Ratchadaphisek Music School, the evening programme will include Rachmaninov’s Etude Op 33 No.9, Chopin’s Etude Op 25 No.12, Schubert’s 3 Piano Pieces D.946, Marius Herea’s Nocturne and Kirova’s Variations
on the Bulgarian Folk Song Hoisata.

Bulgarian pianist’s Bangkok debut scheduled for Fortune Town

Bulgarian pianist Ivajla Kirova will give a Bangkok debut recital featuring the traditional repertoire, modern music and her own compositions at Siam Ratchada Auditorium, Fortune Town, Ratchadaphisek Road, on March 1 at 7pm.

Presented by D&M Music Studio and Yamaha Ratchadaphisek Music School, the evening programme will include Rachmaninov’s Etude Op 33 No.9, Chopin’s Etude Op 25 No.12, Schubert’s 3 Piano Pieces D.946, Marius Herea’s Nocturne and Kirova’s Variations on the Bulgarian Folk Song Hoisata.

Kirova won top prizes in several competitions for young pianists and was named Best Piano Student in Bulgaria when she was 18. She graduated with honours from the State Music Academy Sofia and received a master’s from the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where she had been associate professor for piano for seven years.

She has more than 20 years of educational experience as an independent piano teacher, having taught students from all over the world. She has been invited to be a jury member at many competitions and has conducted masterclasses in Europe and Asia.

She has performed more than 30 concerts in Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Malaysia, Japan and in the UAE. Since 2014, she has been artistic director of the “Bulgarian Musical Evenings in Munich” concert series in Germany.

Tickets cost 600 baht (300 baht for students) and are available at the door.
