Gender-bending art

Bridge Art Space presents the "My Fantasy World 0.000000000123456789" exhibition by Thepmetha Thepboonta, which reflects how art can be inspired by queer sexuality through paintings and sculptures, which will be displayed from Saturday to May 31.

This is the second solo exhibition by the 30-year-old artist, who last year revealed his bisexual identity in his first solo exhibition, "Under My Gender", breaking the wall between genders and creating his own world.

Now he will combine all his forms from the past few years to explore more about his inner spirit world.

He shows his attitude and breaks down traditional gender divisions, illustrating his unique characters in a whimsical way while appreciating the aesthetics of his sexuality.

He shares the enjoyment of sexuality in his world of imagination, at the same time showing the irony in the controversial attitudes towards the different ways of sexuality in this reality.

The exhibition is comprised of three series — "Welcome To My World", "Aesthetic Of Sexuality" and "From My Second Spirit" — showcasing a total of 38 mixed-media paintings, two sculptures and two animated pieces.

Opening night is on Saturday at 7pm. Bridge Art Space is on Charoen Krung Road and is open Wednesday to Monday, from 10am-10pm.
