Official description

Nutnaree “Ommi” Pipit-Suksun, one of Thailand’s most successful performing artists overseas, will display her acrobatic talents during “Ballet Masterpieces With Young Thai Master” at Thailand Cultural Centre, Ratchadaphisek Road, on Aug 11 at 8pm.

The Bangkok-born and classically-trained ballerina will be partnered with Cuban ballet star Rudy Candia with whom she has worked for a number of years at Ballet San Jose in Silicon Valley, the US.

They will perform White Swan Pas De Deux from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and Delibes’ Pas De Deux from Sylvia.

Directing the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra (BSO) for an enticing selection of predominantly 19th century music will be eminent conductor Martin Andre, who studied at the famous Yehudi Menuhin School and then Cambridge University.

In between routines, the BSO will fill out the programme with music from Prokofiev’s and Tchaikovsky’s Romeo And Juliet scores, Ravel’s Pavane and Chopin’s Les Sylphides.

Nutnaree last appeared at Thailand Cultural Centre in 2013. This return visit home is another special opportunity for a local audience to appreciate her world-class performances.

-  Tickets cost 500, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 and 2,500 baht and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major (visit www.thaiticketmajor.com).
