Official description

Three of Bangkok Symphony Orchestra’s own established stars will be soloists in the “BSO Classical Concert No.7” at Thailand Cultural Centre’s Small Hall, Ratchadaphisek Road, on Sept 6 at 8pm.

All very well respected and admired in the Thai classical music scene, oboist Chanannat Meenanan will perform Albinoni’s Oboe Concerto No.2 In D Minor Op 9, whilst violin concertmaster Siripong Tiptan and Spanish violist David Abrahamyan will relish the spotlight in one of the best loved pieces in the whole repertoire — Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante In E Flat Major, K 364.

Directing the BSO string section in Bach’s famous Air On G String and Grieg’s evergreen Holberg Suite, Op 40 will be Portuguese conductor Luis Andrade.

Chanannat has performed with the famous Dartington Festival Orchestra at Dartington summer school in England since 2008. At home, he also holds the position of co-principal oboist in the BSO.

Famed Thai violinist Siripong’s well-rounded musical personality has won many admirers both at home and abroad. He was awarded a Graduate Teaching Fellowship by the University of Oregon and now serves as head of strings at Rangsit University’s Conservatory of Music.

A graduate from Juilliard School of Music, viola maestro David Abrahamyan has benefited from playing under the baton of many A-list conductors. He is also an expert in the field of chamber music and has made a big impact on the Bangkok music scene.
