Competitive dance-off

Some of the greatest dancers from Thailand and overseas will be competing on two major stages during Hip Hop Jam Asia, at the Fountain Court of Seacon Square, Srinakarin Road, from tomorrow to Sunday.

This is the first time one will be able to witness the Seacon Street Int'l Challenge and the Battle of the Year (BOTY) under the same roof. More than 60 Thai teams will be competing in the selection rounds of both competitions on Saturday from 12.30pm-8pm.

Nine of them will proceed to the final rounds on Sunday from 2pm-7.30pm, which will also feature 17 international teams.

The top winner of the Seacon Street Int'l Challenge will receive a scholarship and a trophy from HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and will have the opportunity to compete in Malaysia, while the ultimate champion of the BOTY will represent the country on the world stage in Germany.

Prior to the competitions, there will be a series of intensive dancing workshops led by choreographers who design dance moves for many of world-renowned singers tomorrow from 11am-3pm.

The workshops are open to the competitors free of charge, but the public is also invited to participate at 500 baht per class.
