Official description

Peel the Limelight is staging Gruesome Playground Injuries, written by 2010 Pulitzer finalist and American playwright Rajiv Joseph, at Spark Drama Studio, from Feb 19 until March 1, at 7.30pm. There will be an additional show on Feb 21-22, at 4.30pm.

The play will be performed on Thursday through Sunday.

Peel the Limelight opened in May with Bent, by Martin Sherman. For its second show, the theatre company will explore how love sucks, hurts and heals. The story begins with characters at age eight on the playground, revealing over 30 years the beautifully destructive nature of romance.

Gruesome Playground Injuries premiered at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas, in 2009. An off-Broadway production was staged in New York City, in 2011.

The Bangkok version of the play is directed by Peter O’Neill, with a cast that includes Siree Riewpaiboon and Jaime Zúñiga. It will be performed in English with Thai subtitles.

Tickets cost 550 baht (500 baht for students and early bird booking by Monday). Spark Drama Studio is in the Jasmine City Building, Sukhumvit Soi 23. Visit www.peelthelimelight.com or email press@peelthelimelight.com.
